How we got going again from Fontana

Let's catch up, shall we?
It snowed in the smokies..a lot...so we decided to walk through all that snow in order to get here...gatlinburg, because we had a box of food sent here. Its not here, but we are!
Last Wednesday, in Fontana,  we met for the regular 730 planning breakfast..all checking the weather forecasts. Its very difficult to get actual trail conditions, which its very frustrating as a thru hiker.
We considered hiring a shuttle to take us from Fontana to beyond the great smoky mountains,  (we thought it might be worth it to put us back on schedule and get around the nasty weather). We called and got a few quotes, all in the $200 range. Then in came ridge runner Karl. He convinced us the trail was passable, just snowy that would turn slushy. So we jumped in the next shuttle to the dam and restarted our journey on Wednesday march 27th at 950am...but who's antsy?
